Oops, Now What? Managing HIPAA Breaches with Rana McSpadden, FACMPE, CHPC, CPC

About the Speaker

Rana McSpadden is a senior consultant with the Medical Practice Services department at SVMIC, where she has been a valued member of the team since 2011. With 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including billing, coding, and practice administration, she brings extensive knowledge and practical insight to her work.

At SVMIC, she works closely with physicians and practice staff to provide support in areas such as financial and operational assessments, patient experience improvement, workplace violence prevention, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.

Rana regularly presents to local, state, and national professional associations, as well as medical residency programs. Her leadership within the industry is reflected in her service as President of the Upper Cumberland MGMA, Tennessee ACMPE College Forum Representative, MGMA Chair of the Fellowship Submission Committee, and her current role as Vice Chair of the ACMPE Certification Commission.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies from Tennessee Tech and is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Practice Executives (FACMPE). She is also Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) and a Certified Professional Coder
(CPC).
